Environmentally Sustainable

At The Tree Management Company we make every effort to minimise our impact on the planet throughout the course of our duties. Whenever possible we also use biodegradable oils for our machinery so you can be safe in the knowledge that we do our bit to help you do yours. We recycle all of our wood chips and logs at The Tree Management Company. Our logs are great for heating while wood chip is excellent for preventing weeds and retaining moisture in and around flower beds and borders.

Legislation

All work carried out at The Tree Management Company complies with the current legislation that governs arboricultural operations including:

  • Town & Country Planning Regulations (Trees)

These Acts stipulate that before work is carried out to protected trees either consent is granted by the Planning Authority or a Notice of Intention is served on the Authority.

Planning Authorities will require all tree works to be carried out according to best practice, the British Standard ‘Recommendations for Tree Work’ B.S. 3998:2010.

The Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 affords protection to nesting birds. All tree works are carried out with regard to this legislation. Bat Awareness courses have been taken by the team at The Tree Management Company.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and many subsequent linked Acts and Regulations impose strict controls on tree works and the people carrying out those works.
